Building a company and a brand takes a tremendous amount of perseverance, patience, and purpose.

You need the perseverance to overcome obstacles. The day to day challenges. Whether it is something life throws at you, a business issue, an HR issue, a changing market, or sick kids. No matter what comes, you must have the will to persevere through.

You need the patience not to get too riled up. It is a long game, not a sprint. As a startup, everyone wants to see immediate results. You must balance getting these results as well as building your company for the long term. When things don’t go according to plan have the patience to be able to look at what didn’t work, ask yourself why, and come up with a new gameplay.

Last and most importantly, you need purpose. If you are building something without purpose, you will not have that burning passion to see it through. What are you providing others?
